ContriGroup money, handled quietly.

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: June 27, 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Contri, an Android group expense coordination app operated by Contri Money Labs. By using Contri, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

You may use Contri only if you can follow these Terms and applicable law. If you use Contri for a group, household, trip, or other shared activity, you are responsible for how you enter, import, share, and confirm information in that group.

2. What Contri Is

Contri is a non-custodial group expense coordination tool. The current MVP helps users record group expenses, calculate equal splits, view balances, manage settlement records, save personal logs, include guests, import CSV rows, and use Share-to-Contri to review supported receipt-derived details before saving.

3. What Contri Is Not

Contri is not a bank, wallet, NBFC, payment processor, payment gateway, escrow service, service that proves payments happened, verifier, or dispute resolution service. Contri does not hold, move, process, reverse, refund, verify, guarantee, or confirm payments.

Any payment happens outside Contri through the method or app chosen by the people involved. Contri records coordination data that users enter or confirm.

4. User Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate account, group, expense, guest, import, receipt, and settlement details.
  • Invite members and guests responsibly, and only use contact or guest details you have the right to use.
  • Share or import only data that you are allowed to use in Contri.
  • Keep your account secure and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • Review expenses, CSV rows, Share-to-Contri details, balances, and settlement records before saving or marking anything settled.
  • Resolve real-world payment questions directly with the relevant people.

5. Expenses, Splits, and Settlements

Contri supports an equal split MVP and related balance and settlement views. Calculations, suggestions, and status labels are coordination tools based on information entered, imported, or confirmed by users.

Marking an item paid or settled is a manual user action. It is not confirmation from a bank, UPI system, payment app, or Contri. Shared group ledger records may remain for other participants so their expense, split, balance, and settlement history continues to make sense.

6. Pay with UPI

UPI payment launch is not active. Pay with UPI is Coming Soon and is currently demand capture only. There is no active UPI resolver, UPI app launch, payment processing, payment success confirmation, or confirmation that a payment happened in this flow.

Users should settle outside Contri through their chosen method and manually mark settlement status in Contri after reviewing the details.

7. Share-to-Contri

Share-to-Contri can use trusted Android source metadata and on-device OCR for supported shared receipts or images. It helps prepare details for review, but it does not confirm that a payment happened.

Raw receipt screenshots are not uploaded to or stored by Contri. Nothing from Share-to-Contri is saved until the user confirms it. Confirmed derived fields may be saved as personal logs, group expenses, or settlement records.

8. CSV Import

CSV import is user-selected and review-based. Contri may parse and normalize rows so you can confirm them before saving group expenses. Unsupported, incomplete, or unclear rows may be skipped or require manual review.

You are responsible for the accuracy, rights, and appropriateness of imported data.

9. Guests, Invites, and Claims

Guests are participants in the relevant expenses or balances. Guest email is optional and can help a guest claim or connect their participation later. Claims are app-first and require authenticated use where applicable.

Invite and claim links must be handled responsibly. Do not share links with people who should not access the relevant group, expense, balance, or guest context.

10. Notifications

Contri may send service notifications about account, group, expense, settlement, invite, or app activity. Delivery can depend on device permissions, Firebase Cloud Messaging, network conditions, and operating system settings.

11. Prohibited Use

You must not misuse Contri. Prohibited use includes:

  • Fraud, harassment, spam, illegal activity, or abusive conduct.
  • Creating or relying on fake payment evidence or misleading settlement records.
  • Impersonation or unauthorized account access.
  • Misuse of another person's data, guest details, invite links, or group records.
  • Scraping, probing, bypassing security, disrupting the service, or attempting unauthorized access.

12. Account Deletion and Termination

You can request account deletion in the app or by contacting help@contri.money. After successful in-app deletion, your account profile is deactivated and anonymized. Shared group ledger records may remain for other participants.

Contri may suspend or terminate access if needed for abuse prevention, security, legal, safety, or service integrity reasons.

13. Service Availability and MVP Changes

Contri is an evolving MVP. Features may change, pause, become unavailable, or work differently over time. We try to keep the service reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or always-available service.

14. Third-Party Services

Payment apps, banks, UPI apps, and payment providers used outside Contri are controlled by their own providers and governed by their own terms and policies. Contri is not responsible for their availability, decisions, confirmations, failures, reversals, refunds, or disputes.

Our Privacy Policy describes privacy choices, children and minors, support, privacy, and grievance contact details, and processors or service providers such as Firebase, Supabase, Google Cloud Run, GCP, Resend, MailerLite, Vercel, Cloudflare, and website hosting.

15. Disclaimers and Liability

Contri is provided as-is to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that user-entered information, imported rows, receipt-derived details, balances, or settlement suggestions are complete, accurate, or appropriate for your situation.

To the extent permitted by law, Contri Money Labs is not liable for payment failures, incorrect user-entered information, disputes between group members, third-party service issues, lost profits, indirect losses, or consequential losses arising from use of the service.

16. Changes and Contact

We may update these Terms as Contri changes. When we do, we will update the Last updated date on this page.
